Ruben is currently an artist-in-residence at the Quentin Blake Center for Illustration (2026)

His work has been shown in exhibitions around the Uk, and his illustrations have been featured in magazines and various anthologies. His latest comic ‘Knots’ was self published in May 2026.

The process behind his work includes constant experimentation with structure and colour, often playing with line-weight and mark making. All his drawings are built up in layers and separations with print reproduction in mind. The sequential nature of most of his pieces makes the work inherently narrative.

Ruben has an academic background in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Manchester and a Masters degree in Illustration from the Camberwell College or Arts (UAL).
